Happiest Place on Earth

03/13/13 - 03/15/13

Happiness, for me, is the greatest treasure no amount of money can buy. We all want to be happy, but we can't be all the time. :)

As a kid, I believed in fairy tales. I always believed that in my own kingdom, I am a princess. I always believed that bad guys around me are the "evil witches" who wanted to trick me and poison me so I can be in my deepest slumber. I always believed that my parents' friends are my fairy godmothers who give me gifts during special occasion and that they are always there to grant my simple wish of having a new toy. I always believed that somewhere out there lived my prince, who will someday come riding on a beautiful horse. And that he will come for me.. someday. Just by reading fairytale books (with illustrations ofcourse) and watching princess movies, I make myself happy. :)

The last day of my February was worth-remembering. The day was perfect - sunny with cool winds. And it was a "happy day". I was "adopted-for-a-day" by the Baetiong family. We drove from San Diego all the way to Anaheim, California. On that day, one of my greatest dream since childhood came true. I went to the happiest place on Earth, Disneyland.

Photo taken at the Ariel's Grotto, where we had our lunch with the dazzling Disney princesses! <3

The ticket we purchased was a one-day two parks pass. That way, we can hop from Disneyland to Disney California Adventure and vice versa, in a day. It wasn't the family's first time, but they love going back there for almost every year. It's also kinda good that I am with "non first-timers" because they are already familiar with the place and the different attractions there.

That day, I had my different FIRST-TIMEs. First, it was my first time in a Disneyland theme park. And then, in my whole life, it was my first time to ride a roller coaster (haha!). As in the really long roller coaster ride (not just the 3D simulation rides that I've had in the past). I was always afraid of riding things like that. But I was challenged to take the ride for the California Screamin' in California Adventure because Nang Nene encouraged me to do so. She said it is best to give it a try so that even once in my life, I'll have that experience. So I gave it a try, and it was crazy. The name California Screamin' really fits the ride! You need not ask me why.

It was also my first time to ride the Ferris wheel. You may be staring at the computer screen now and mocking me, sayin "loser!" but it's true. When I was a kid, I have always wanted to try to ride a Ferris wheel but Papa won't let me. And so I've always thought it's a bit scary and dangerous. But the Mickey wheel isn't scary-looking at all. However, we tried to take the "swinging" ride for the wheel. It's the twist, because our gondola doesn't just go up like any other wheel rides, it swings to and fro while going up and down the circle of the wheel. And that made me kinda dizzy. @_@ But still, I enjoyed it! No regrets!

There's the Mickey wheel over there! ;)
After the rides, we had our yummy royal lunch at the Ariel's Grotto. It was a good thing that we already had a reservation because there. I saw lots of cute little girls dressed up in different Disney princess costumes/gowns. They were all lovely. Would you imagine even a little 2 year old is portraying Cinderella too? :)

Meet my yummy food for lunch *nomnom*
Then, off to the other park - Disneyland! :)

This is what welcomes the guests upon entering the Disneyland park :) Mickey's face!

Just like in California Adventure, I also had some rides, but no scary or dangerous ones this time. I am quite aware that Disneyland is more child-friendly than the Cali Adventure. Hehe. I never wasted time going around anywhere in Disneyland.

Featuring the beautiful Disney castle!

I have always dreamed of seeing that castle for so long.. <3 At last! :)

Nang Nene and I take a pose at another wonderful Disney attraction - It's a Small World. Too bad it was closed that day :(

Roaming around the Disney parks reminded me of how happy I was as a kid. It reminded me that I was indeed a "normal" kid, who gets mad with the tiny little things and enjoys even the most nonsense TV shows of animes and cartoons. Disney has been a great part of my childhood - is, and will always be a part of me. Now, who wouldn't want to visit the happiest place on earth? :)

I can't actually narrate everything here on a single blogpost (which I actually plan to publish today). And I have more photos to share! Grr. Maybe I'll have the other features on a separate post. *fingers crossed*

Pink Fridays is Back!

02/08/13

You read the title right. It says, Pink. Fridays. Is. Back. And I mean it. I know I've been such a lazy blogger since December... well, since I've been here in the United States. And I have not posted even a single Pink Fridays post. I have been lax about that because I thought it doesn't really matter to my readers. But then, somebody just made me realize otherwise.

It was last week when I received a private message on our So Sweet Suzette Fanpage. One of our So Sweet Suzette readers, who is also a friend + relative of mine, asked where my Pink Fridays posts are. Then I found out, my PF posts really matter to her (which makes me feel glad). My PF post is what keeps her coming back to my blog, checking every Friday, hoping there would be a pink photo that would please her eyes (it's actually her fave color). *hihi*

I apologized, and promised to her that I'll work on my PF post the soonest I can. So, here it is. This is my first Friday post for the love month of February, and the first for the year 2013 as well.

The photos I'm showing you for today are actually old ones, I would say VERY OLD ones. I found them while browsing my old photos. And ta-daaaah! Let me present to you, the pink piggy cupcakes! :)

Pink Piggy sittin' pretty (and friends).
As you can see, there's the "ohsoyoung" Suzette over there. Photos are actually taken more than 2 years ago. This was during a family friend's business opening. The cupcakes were really cute, that's why I didn't think twice about taking pictures with them (the piggy & chicken cupcakes).

It's not just me who's enjoying the piggy cupcakes.. even my lil brotha!
Haha! He's still so young here. lol

After taking photos with the cute cuppies, we ate them (just like what my brother seemed to "portray" on the photo above). HAHA :D

Few days more to go and it'll be Valentine's Day! <3 Love love love.

Heller there 2013 :)

01/10/13

My first post for the year 2013 :) So, lemme say Happy New Year sweeties! I was actually planning to post here my resolution for this year but I changed my mind. Instead, I just want to share to you what I've been up to lately and to share my thoughts about my life.

These are actually our New Year fruits. It's actually a tradition ever since to have 12 fruits on the table for the New Year. The 12 fruits symbolize 12 fruitful months for the year 2013 :)

Just when I was getting excited to transfer the photos from my digicam to the laptop, I can't quite figure out how to open the files. But I'd work on it next time, pretty soon. So as of now, I just finished watching the movie 50/50. I am aware that this movie was released last 2011 but oh well, I just saw it today. And I realized, I have actually been watching Joseph Gordon-Levitt movies. Just last week, I watched Inception, Looper and Premium Rush. And then this. But I didn't really do it on purpose. Haha! :) Coincidence.

And watching the film 50/50 made me realize something - that life is short and that I am blessed I don't have any sickness or infirmity right now. Thank you Lord. :)

A lot of people are actually sick this time because of the cold season. Cough and colds are very common. But what alerts most people is FLU. That is why, getting a flu shot is recommended for everybody. I've had mine last year, I mean 2011 so I might get another shot soon. It's a vaccine given to the patient yearly. Just for, you know, prevention. Okay, so I'm getting far now. Hehe. I just want to express the point that we are now in a new year, so we should take extra care so won't catch any illness. Let us not start the year with unending ha-chus (sneezing) and u-hum u-hum (cough sound). Aside from frequent handwashing, which is for me, the best weapon against germs and viruses, we should also eat nutritious food. Fruits rich in Vitamin C can really help.

It's for you to figure out which of these fruits are rich in Vitamin C. There are actually a lot from this photo and more from the stores and perhaps from your backyard ;)

So that'll be all for welcoming the year 2013 and about the movie and the flu and the fruits. :) Take care during this flu season sweeties!

The photo I sent to my boyfie thru PM, which he eventually posted in his timeline. haha!

Pink Fridays: Pink Cake

There is really something about blog memes. It somehow gives an appeal not just to the readers, but to the bloggers as well. My cousin, who is also a blogger, has invited me to join this blog meme, the Pink Fridays. My other cousin also mentioned about this meme before. Sure, it is a "popular" meme. Its popularity maybe because of the fact that this has started since December 2008 and also because of its color, pink. Without second thoughts, I decided to join this meme because I am a pink-lover.

For the Friday of this week, I am posting this PINK CAKE. This is the birthday cake of my goddaughter, Fabriella.

Ellah celebrated her first birthday last Monday, September 17. And this (photo) is her princess-y birthday cake, which is PINK!

So for the next Fridays, please watch out for more Pink Friday posts! Also, if you are a blogger and perhaps, a pink-lover, you can join us! Just leave the link to your blog on the comment box below, so I can read your PF posts. Happy Pink Friday, sweeties!
