Knock, knock! It's LOVE

02/12/13

Can you feel LOVE in the air now? We're just some days away from what we call the official Hearts' day, or Lovers' day; some people also fondly call it the SAD or Single Awareness Day. Whatever you call it, February 14, Thursday, is the Valentine's Day. And it just can't be stopped.

Are you looking forward to "that" day?

If your answer is YES and you're a GIRL, then I figure you might be very excited because you got the sweetest invite for a date on that day! Plus, the invite is coming from the guy you want to be with on that special day. Isn't that amazing? Well, that's totally a reason to look forward to that day. You may even want to fast forward to Feb 14 ASAP.

Meanwhile, if your answer is a YES and you're a boy, I guess you just scored that sweet "yes" from the girl of your dreams - to be your date on the 14th. *winks*

On the other hand, if your answer is a NO, regardless of gender, then you either have no date on the Valentines day, or your boyfriend/girlfriend/partner is away (like miles away) from you. It could also be because your long time crush is nowhere within your reach (no date with him/her or even an invite or a simple conversation). Or, you could be.. just hating the thought of Valentine's day and of love.

As for me, it doesn't really matter. I mean, my answer would be "Whatever." Don't get me wrong, but I actually love the thought of having a Valentine's Day, plus all the other perks going on before and after the special day. I love seeing hearts <3 everywhere.. in the mall, supermarkets, schools, and other public places. There are signs saying "Valentine's Day is Thursday, February 14." But somehow, I don't really have that excitement and enthusiasm for this year's V-Day. I could say a very big factor is because I don't have a date (my boyfie is in the Phils now, so we're literally miles away).

However, I still took photos of the beautiful flowers I saw in the store nearby. This is a sign that Valentine's Day is indeed just around the corner.

Which of these roses do you like? :) I like the white roses.

Anyway, I believe that being happy on the Valentine's Day is a decision. Having a partner is not just the key to being happy on that day. If you don't have a date with someone of the opposite sex, then spend your day with family or friends. Watch a movie with your groupie or barkada. Or treat your parents to a wonderful buffet dinner (including yourself and your siblings of course). Also, for the busy couples who would've wished they can meet on the V-Day but just can't because of work, school, etc., then you can still go out on the 15th, 16th, so on. A belated V-Day date is always as sweet. :)

I will end this blog post with the 5 simple rules of happiness: (which is a cliche and I do not know who the original source is)
1. Free your heart from hatred.
2. Free your mind from worries.
3. Live simply.
4. Give more.
5. Expect less.

And here's something from me (original*wink*): When LOVE knocks at your door, not just on V-Day but any day of the year, DO NOT be afraid to open it. Let it come in. It isn't just about a partner, it's about everyone and everything in your life.

Love love! Happy Hearts' Day! :) <3
